Hiring the Poppleton Tithe Barn
The Poppleton Tithe Barn is available for hire in keeping with our charity aims. These are to preserve the building and make it available to local people for specific events, including charity events.
However, the Barn is close to residential properties and as a Grade 2 listed building, it has no soundproofing. Consequently, there are some parameters around the use of music. See the Restrictions below and our terms and conditions for more information.
Events
These are some of the events we have held in the Poppleton Tithe Barn in recent years:
Art exhibitions, club/society meetings, conferences, talks, plays, funeral wakes, celebratory lunches, dinners and wedding breakfasts.
We provide a full range of tables and chairs (see inventory). A small, fully equipped kitchen including tea cups, cutlery, crockery and a water boiler. There is background heating and spot-lighting. Some car parking is available.
In addition to the Barn, hirers can use the adjacent Sensory Garden for quiet contemplation and wedding photographs.
Restrictions
The restrictions of use are:
- The use of amplified music is to be discussed and agreed with the booking Trustee. It must be “low impact” for a limited and agreed period. Non -amplified music is allowed for a limited and agreed period. Please see our Terms and Conditions for a more detailed explanation.
- No children’s parties, due to the unforgiving nature of the stone floor in the Barn and risk of excessive noise.
- The Tithe Barn events must end by 11pm.
Please contact us if you have any questions regarding these restrictions and to check availability and prices.
More Information on Hiring the Barn
Please note that all events are supported by the Trustees so please respect that Trustees provide this service as volunteers. Please leave the Barn clean and tidy and remove all your rubbish (we do not have a bin collection service).
